What is Trading Tracks
Supporting Indigenous Businesses to Grow, Connect & Thrive
Trading Tracks supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and emerging entrepreneurs across the Mackay and Isaac regions by creating pathways to growth, connection, and opportunity. Through mentorship, business support, and access to valuable networking opportunities, the program empowers Indigenous businesses to build confidence, strengthen their capabilities, and increase their visibility within the wider business community. By fostering collaboration and supporting sustainable success, Trading Tracks contributes to stronger local economies and thriving communities across the region.
Building Stronger Indigenous Businesses Across the Region
Trading Tracks supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, start-ups, and Traditional Owner enterprises across the Mackay and Isaac regions through mentoring, business support, workshops, and networking opportunities. The program helps build capability, strengthen long-term growth, and connect businesses with valuable opportunities and resources.
Who can apply?
Indigenous businesses, start-ups, collaborations, and Joint Ventures that are at least 50% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander owned.

Whether you’re just starting with an idea or already operating, Trading Tracks provides guidance, mentoring, workshops, and business support.
What services do we offer?
offers a range of tailored business support services, including business and strategic planning, financial management, sales and marketing, operational and HR support, IT and digital capability building, procurement and supply chain support, research and innovation, and leadership development.
We deliver these supports through workshops, one-on-one assistance, and referrals to specialist providers, ensuring businesses are connected to the right support at the right time.

Trading Tracks is proudly delivered by Marabisda in partnership with the Local Buying Foundation, BHP and BMA to support the growth of Indigenous businesses across the Mackay and Isaac regions. Meet Shardai
I feel privileged to work alongside local businesses, helping to connect them with tailored support, coordinate workshops, and link them into specialist services through referrals.
A big part of my role is making sure businesses feel supported and have access to the right opportunities and networks to help strengthen their growth and capability.
The most rewarding part of my role is getting to walk alongside local Indigenous businesses as they grow and evolve. I really enjoy seeing people build their skills, learn new things, and gain confidence as they develop their business journey. It’s a privilege to build genuine relationships within our community and to play even a small part in helping people move closer to their goals and visions for their business.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, out taking photos, or enjoying some downtime at the beach.

I support Indigenous businesses across the region by connecting them with the right tools, services, and opportunities to help them grow and succeed. I’m passionate about building strong relationships and promoting the incredible businesses we work with through our networks and community.
Seeing the growth and confidence in the businesses we support, being able to build genuine relationships, support their journey, and celebrate their wins along the way is incredibly rewarding.
My hobbies outside of work are reading, camping and gardening.
