What is Indigenous Family Wellbeing Service

Mulla Mulla – Hand in Hand. Protect Our Future.

The Indigenous Family Wellbeing Service (IFWS) supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to strengthen their social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Through culturally responsive support, practical assistance and ongoing guidance, we help families build the skills, confidence and resilience needed to safely nurture and care for their children. By working alongside families, we aim to create stronger foundations, healthier relationships and positive outcomes for future generations.

Supporting Families to Thrive

Every family faces challenges at different stages of life, and sometimes a little extra support can make all the difference. Our team provides culturally safe, family-centred support that empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to overcome barriers, strengthen relationships and access the services they need to achieve their goals. Through early intervention, advocacy and ongoing support, we help families build their confidence, resilience and parenting capacity while improving their social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. By walking alongside families and connecting them to the right supports, we help create safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive.

What support can the Indigenous Family Wellbeing Service provide?

Our team can assist with parenting program referrals, daycare enrolment support, advocacy with government agencies, access to men’s and women’s programs, wellbeing support, community connections and referrals to additional services that meet the needs of your family.

Who can access this service?

The Indigenous Family Wellbeing Service supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children under 18 years of age and families who may benefit from additional support to strengthen their wellbeing, relationships and parenting capacity.

How can I access support?

Families can self-refer or be referred by Child Safety, health services, schools, government agencies, courts, community organisations or other support services. Our team is here to provide guidance and help connect families with the right support.

How does the Indigenous Family Wellbeing Service help families?

We work alongside families to provide practical support, advocacy and connections to services that strengthen wellbeing, build parenting confidence and support positive outcomes for children and families.

Building Stronger Futures Together
